Family Home Evening Ideas
After telling the story of Noah's Ark;
Take your Family to a park have markers such as soccer cones, rope, blankets,- measure out the size of Noah's arch. talk about the things that had to go on the ark ie food for family and animals. It is amazing to see just how big in length, width and height
Every one has a story-
Don't judge. Take a balloon for each person and draw a face on the balloon.
Tell the story of each balloon.
#1 Kelly is always late for school and she never talks. She looks like she just woke up when she gets to school. She never wants to stay after school with us to help our teacher.
Pop the balloon and read the note inside the balloon. Which says:
Kelly and her family just moved here, she doesn't have any close friends because she has to leave right after school so she can get her little brother from the first grade class. Kelly's father is away in Afghanistan fighting for our freedom so her mother is working to make sure they have a place to stay and food to eat. Kelly has to help with her brother after school and also get him ready and walk with him to school each day. Everyone has a story.
#2 ShuChin speaks funny I can't understand him and he never wants to talk or go to play at recess. Some time he just sits and cries, his hair is weird too.
Pop the Balloon
ShuChin is from Taiwan and he is learning how to speak English. He is scared because he doesn't understand all the things people are saying to him. The words sound funny to him and he doesn't know how to ask for things he needs.
Everyone has a story.
Make up a different story for each balloon- make sure you let your children know that Heavenly Father loves everyone he expects us to love everyone also.
